Tribe of mindfulness,
With #mindfulmarch upon us, I want each of us to consider why we should bother to focus on brain injury awareness if we personally haven't experienced a traumatic brain injury. There are lots of reasons. This week at EmbodyGR we will learn more about TBI, watch a video about Love Your Brain, and discuss the importance of brain functionality in our daily lives. We will pay attention to our habitual thought patterns. We will unpack the fact that our thoughts shape our reality. We will LOVE our brains by using the power of our minds to improve the quality of our lives by reframing what we choose to focus upon.
Individually we will create intentions (affirmations) from a state of positivity and put them into our meditation & yoga practices. At the end of the gathering we will create affirmation cards together at our new "Affirmation Station." What is an 'affirmation station' you may ask? Well, first an "affirmation" is declaring something to be true. And the affirmation station is an inspiration I had this weekend at a Street Yoga training in Flint. I had the vision for an art space in the social hall each week to design affirmation cards for yourself as well as for others. And we will make it so this week using paper, markers, crayons, our hearts, and various creative tools, to create a more positive world for ourselves and others.
Bring your heart, your friends, and any art supplies you would might have to donate. The hardest part is showing up & you will be glad you did!
