Welcome to Summer!

Tribe of sunshine,

*Note: This week we are in the Tree House!

Oh summer how you are an adored & welcomed season in the rhythm of a Michigander's year.  It's time to embrace long days, powerful moons, brilliant sunshine, water, beach, & food from the earth! It's time to celebrate our hard work over the last nine months, especially our school-aged kids who put in an 8+ hours/day. We all need a break, time for rest, reflection, & recharge. Time to bask proudly on the transformation of our individual & collective lives.  Truly it's time to let the mane down, give a roar, join your pride & embrace all that is summer! And to kick it off I am stoked to announce Micah McLaughlin of The Muteflutes & our longtime friend Chad Houseman, aka Tom Hymn, & Friends will celebrate International Yoga Day & summer solstice with us as our musical guests. Not to be missed goodness!

It's also a busy time of year with graduations across our nation. Personally I graduated 3 high school seniors- a beautiful yet challenging process. A friend of mine helped my frayed parental nerves recently by posting on facebook to his daughter who just earned her master's degree. He expressed his pride of her on-going dedicated efforts "and her willingness to just keep grinding every single day." This adage is a reminder to us all to 'Grind now, shine later.' I shared this story with my youngest daughter Grace who has been a little stressed as a 10th grader. During final exam prep this week she came down pretty exhausted yet reminded me she was grinding & shining. Yes- do the work, make progress, feel proud. And that is what we do each and every week at EmbodyGR. Our individual practices of yoga, pranayama, meditation, & selfless-service, all serve the greater collective. Each breath, all the sweat & tears, time on the mat & cushion, giving back in community, all help us continually heal, transform, live a life we love & SHINE!.

Dan Skwarek is a shining example to the commitment of changing his life through dedication to EmbodyGR & the work! And boy did our tribe member & filmmaker Aaron capture 'Dan's Story 'beautifully! I am excited to announce on June 28 we will premiere the film & feature these two men who are on the path, sleeves rolled up & hearts wide open.

So get your calendars ready to make space for all the goodness we have coming up in June!

Grind & shine!
