![]() Tribe of PEACE! I am still reeling after our 18th school shooting in the United States since January 1st, 2018. That averages about 3 per week thus far. How are you feeling? Do you agree that thoughts & prayers are no longer enough? Our young people deserve better and we are the ones who are supposed to be caring for and protecting the most vulnerable among us. We, at EmbodyGR, are all about action. What action can you, me, us, take? For starters, this week we are holding a yoga for peace gathering to send love & healing to the victims, their loved ones, and the peace of our planet. Our collective intention is a powerful force, make no mistake to think otherwise. So please, please, show up Wednesday, February 21 to our weekly gathering to take tangible action for peace in our world. Though yoga & meditation are not a singular solution to end gun violence, let us join together and take a stand. Let us move from a state of powerlessness, hopelessness and helpless isolation to a collective community coming together to grieve, pick up the shattered pieces of our national heart, and ask the uncomfortable questions: 'What is the next right step for me right now? How can I be part of a solution? How can I use my voice, my vote, my resources, my agency, for peace?" No one is coming to fix this for us. Let us join as one because only together we can make peace within ourselves, safety in our schools and thus a world safer for our children. If you are inspired to join in a larger conversation about gun violence, consider coming to Fountain Street Church this Sunday, February 25, with other members and supporters of Moms Demand Action in Grand Rapids. There you can discern what YOU can do for the gun violence prevention movement while learning about upcoming events, legislative work, 2018 elections, and strategy moving forward. When times are uncertain & fearful, my go-to is 'lovingkindness meditation' May this help you, as it does me, to cultivate peace within self and inspire within you the personal responsibility to cultivate peace in our world. May I be happy. May I be at peace, May I be well. May my heart open. May you be happy. May you be at peace, May you be well. May your heart open. May we be happy. May we be at peace, May we be well. May our hearts open. And so it is. Deep peace & abundant love, Dana Upcoming EventsWednesday, February 21, 2018
